“AGOPUNTURA PER IL PIANETA”

La serie di opere dell’Agopuntura per il Pianeta nasce da un intervento performativo di
carattere rituale, che Fabio Pietrantonio realizza nella terra del Capichera ad Arzachena,
in una delle tante “Tombe dei Giganti” che si trovano in Sardegna. I misteriosi resti
megalitici della civiltà nuragica alimentano da sempre leggende e tradizioni popolari; si
crede che particolari campi di energia, che lì sembrano addensarsi, producano effetti
taumaturgici e curativi. In un assolato giorno d’estate, accompagnato dal ritmo
percussivo di una danza tribale e scortato dalla presenza di sette donne, l’artista ha dato
forma a una suggestiva performance sciamanica nella quale ha visualizzato e ripercorso
i flussi di energia del luogo conficcando nel suolo centinaia di “aghi” di bambù, come
per una simbolica, potente agopuntura per il pianeta. Secondo l’artista: “Il bambù è
l'albero che produce più ossigeno di tutti gli altri suoi simili, tanto che le foreste di
bambù sono da sempre ritrovo di grandi maestri buddisti per la meditazione.
Agopuntura per il pianeta consiste nel fare una pressione sulla terra con un bastoncino
di bambù creando un contatto positivo, dando un simbolico beneficio alla terra, un
respiro, curandola come si cura un paziente ammalato. Il nostro pianeta ha bisogno di
cure, e il pensiero positivo influisce su tutte le energie favorendo il fluire delle cose. Il
semplice atto di questa azione scatena una miriade di energie, aprendo dei canali di
trasmissione nella terra. “E’ cosi banale che non sembra possibile” ha raccontato l’artista
parlando della preformance, “ ma è successo, tanto che al quarto stecchino infilzato ha
iniziato a diluviare e, quando ho finito gli stecchini, ha smesso”. Agopuntura per il
pianeta e’ una serie di opere in linea con la produzione di Fabio Pietrantonio, il cui tema
ricorrente è legato all’equilibrio tra energie cosmiche e terrene, generatore di messaggi
di pace e prosperità.
Al tema della prosperità si fa particolare riferimento nella collezione “San Pietro fish”,
attraverso sculture che rappresentano il pesce della moltiplicazione, parabola raccontata
nel Vangelo, come simboli di abbondanza e speranza. La serie delle sculture è
completata dalla collezione di orsi , che rappresentano la famiglia, il toro che trasmette
forza e capacità di ripresa, e la zebra, simbolo di grazia e femminilità. Tutti animali con
forte connotazione simbolica a cui Pietrantonio è fortemente, misticamente legato.

“ACUPUNCTURE FOR THE PLANET”
The series of works "Acupunture for the planet" originates from a ritual-based artistic
performance, produced by Fabio Pietrantonio in the land of Capichera and Arzachena, in
one of the many "Giants' Graves" located in Sardinia. The mysterious megalithic remains
of the Nuragic civilisation have always been the inspiration for legends and folk
traditions; it is believed that certain fields of energy, that would appear to gather there,
produce healing and miraculous effects. On a cloudless summer day, assisted by the
percussive rhythm of a tribal dance and shepherded by the presence of seven women,
the artist gave shape to a fascinating shamanic performance in which he displayed and
traced the energy flows of the place, digging hundreds of bamboo needles into the soil,
representing a symbolic, powerful acupuncture for the planet. According to the artist:
"Bamboo is the tree that produces more oxygen than any other, so much so that bamboo
forests have always been the popular haunt of great Buddhist masters for meditation.
Acupuncture for the planet consists of pressing down into the ground with a bamboo
stick, creating a positive contact, providing a symbolic benefit to the land, a breath, and
curing it as if it were a sick patient. Our planet needs cures, and positive thought
influences all energies, favouring the flow of things. This simple act triggers a myriad of
energies, opening transmission channels in the earth. "It is so trivial that it does not seem
possible", said the artist, speaking of the performance, "but it happened, so that when
the fourth toothpick stuck in the ground it started to rain and, when I finished the
toothpicks, it stopped". Acupuncture for the planet is a series of works in line with Fabio
Pietrantonio's production, the recurring theme of which concerns the equilibrium
between cosmic and terrestrial energies, the generator of messages of peace and
prosperity.
Special reference is made to the theme of prosperity in the "San Pietro fish" collection,
through sculptures representing the multiplication of fish - a parable that is narrated in
the Gospel - as symbols of abundance and hope. The series of sculptures is completed
by the collection of bears, that represent the family, the bull the conveys strength and
resilience and the zebra, a symbol of grace and femininity. All these animals have strong
symbolic connotations, to which Pietrantonio is vigorously and mystically connected.
